Work and Learn Project (Year 10 and 11s)
High Schools can now offer their Year 10 and 11 pupils an extended work experience placement with the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications through
Tameside Education Business Partnership and Tameside College.
This means that in addition to the option of the extended work experience programme, schools can now opt to place students on an extended work experience programme that includes a Friday morning or afternoon at Tameside College where, over the course of the academic year, they could gain accreditation in some or all of the following (subject to suitability):

City & Guilds Numeracy
Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2 - City & Guilds Literacy
Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2 - AQA Certificate in Preparation For Working Life
Level 1 or Level 2 - NCFE Key Skills in Improving Own Learning and Performance
Entry Level or Level 1 - OCR Entry Level 3 in Job Seeking Skills
- PEARL – Personal Employability, Achievement and Reflection for Learners.

- One point of contact – Tameside EBP
- This will be a streamlined process - the student will only need to attend one joint interview with Tameside EBP and the College to be accepted and one interview with a prospective employer
- Administration will be reduced – there will be one invoice to cover the placement and the college element
- Increased levels of support and monitoring – Tameside EBP will also monitor college attendance
