Connexions
Connexions Advisers offer impartial information, advice and guidance concerning
education, jobs, apprenticeships and training courses. Personal Advisers can
also assist with any personal worries such as money, housing, health, which
might affect your plans for the future.
Who can we help
Connexions Tameside is able to offer a service to students aged 16 – 19 (16 – 25
for students with a learning difficulty and/or disability) who fall into
specified vulnerable groups and/or those who are at risk of dropping out of
college.
These may include (but is not limited to) students:
- With housing difficulties or family problems
- With learning difficulties, disabilities and/or health problems
- Who are looked after/in care or are care leavers
- Who are parents/carers
- Who receive intensive support from other agencies, such as Social Services and
YOT.

Your Connexions Personal Advisers
- Steve Lee works with students on Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2 & Level 3
courses. He is based in Student Services all day on Mondays and on Wednesday
afternoons.
- Val Thomas works with students attending Dovestones.
Arranging to see your Personal Adviser
Contact Student Services to book an appointment or drop in on Monday or
Wednesday when Steve will usually be in college. Alternatively, contact
Ashton-under-Lyne Connexions Centre on (0161) 330 1528.
