The College is committed to providing services suited to international student needs. Students are allocated a personal tutor who will assist with all academic issues and provide general support throughout the course.
The International Admissions Officer will advise on a range of issues including comparability of qualifications, course entry requirements, immigration and visa matters. Support is given to new students settling in and finding suitable accommodation.
International Students must have an adequate knowledge of written and spoken English and be able to provide current evidence of English proficiency at the time of application to Higher Education. Information about recognised English Language tests (IELTS and TOEFL) will normally be available to students abroad through the British Council office. English minimum entry requirements for HE courses are: GCSE English Grade C; Cambridge Certificate in English Grade C; IELTS score of 5.5; and TOEFL score of 510 (paper-based). If your current qualifications have been taken in English, then an exemption may be considered. Students wishing to improve their English whilst studying will be offered a place on English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
To obtain information about International student course fees contact the International Admissions Officer. International Student tuition fees are required to be paid in full prior to enrolment of each academic study year. Students abroad wishing to make payment through the Banks Automated Clearing System (BACS) should contact the International Admissions Officer in advance to make suitable arrangements.
International students interested in applying for a place at Tameside College will receive a copy of the ‘International Student Guide’. This is obtainable from Student Services or the International Admissions Officer
