Adult Learner Awards

Tameside College hosted it's annual Adult Learners Awards Evening in the Courtyard Theatre to celebrate their achievements last week.


The event celebrates those learners in Further Education at the College that excel in their studies. Forty students were nominated by their tutors and lecturers to receive awards presented by the Worshipful Deputy Civic Mayor of Tameside Denise Ward.

The evening commenced with the College’s Food Studies Department preparing refreshments for the guests whilst students took to the stage to receive their award from their proud tutors.

All the learners in attendance received a gift and certificate for their nominations. Jade Harris who is studying for a National Diploma in Photography received the Jaynie Huxley award for ‘Outstanding Adult Learner’ in creative industries, which was presented by Mark Huxley.  Laurinda Figueiredo currently studying for an English Language Level 1 and 2 Diploma received the Principal’s Award presented by Tameside College Principal Peter Ryder.

Winners and their guests were invited to join group photographs with special guest the Deputy Mayor Denise Ward.

Tameside College would like to congratulate all our adult learners and thank all our guests for attending the awards evening including  Denise Ward, John Lyne Chair of Governor’s, Principal Peter Ryder  and Deputy Principal Jenny Worsdale.
