Accessibility
It is possible to make websites more accessible for users with disabilities by following
design techniques documented by The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)’s Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
Tameside College is committed to providing website content that is accessible to
all by following to the W3C guidelines to at least level 1 (A) and to levels 2 &
3 wherever possible. In addition to the design practices used, we also provide some
options that can aid viewing of the website for those users with visual impairments.
The options provided allow the colour scheme of the site to be changed to high contrast
colours such as yellow and black or black and white. It is also possible to increase
the size of the text. For additional information on web accessibility please see
