Tameside College’s Reflections Restaurant made it to the final of the College Restaurant of the Year Awards held in London, as colleges from around the country competed to be named the winner.
Catering staff and students travelled to the capital to attend the awards, which is run and organised by ‘Restaurant Magazine’. The college were one of three shortlisted from the North West, a fantastic achievement from the hundreds of entrants.
The students also received a tour of Michel Roux’s famous restaurant, Le Gavroche, where they were able to view how high profile restaurants run. Catering tutor John Holden said, “The students worked hard on the judging day in Reflections Restaurant. The trip to London was a great eye opener to the students who were shown around Le Gavroche. Although we did not get the final trophy, it was a great achievement for all the students.”
