Balfour Beatty Partnership
Tue, 02 June 2009
As part of a collaborative partnership with construction company, Balfour Beatty, Tameside College Construction and Built Environment students can now visit the construction site at Tameside General Hospital, to get an understanding of how a multi national organisation operates.
The multi million pound project at the hospital has enabled student’s development on their course, preparing them for a career in construction. Along with the hospital project, Balfour Beatty highlighted the importance of helping the local community, resulting in the partnership between the Construction Company and Tameside College.
Balfour Beatty representatives also visited the college, where they supplied a range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) bearing Balfour Beatty’s name, the college logo and their new health and safety initiative, ‘Zero Harm’ branding. The presentation of the protective wear means that students can use them on visits to the site but also whilst working at college.
Head of Construction, Richard Gleaves said, "Tameside College are privileged to be partnering with such a highly regarded, international contractor."
