Tameside College’s annual Food Studies Award Ceremony, celebrating the success of students, took place this month with celebrity chef Simon Rimmer presenting awards to the top learners who have excelled throughout the year.
This year the awards ceremony was planned, organised and run by Hospitality Twilight students who study at the college one night a week after school. This was the first event that the students had ever organized and it was a great success. Guest speaker, Simon Rimmer, was invited to attend the awards ceremony and he gratefully accepted for the 2nd year running.
BTEC Twilight tutor Charlotte Rowarth said, “The event is a great opportunity for learners to gain experience in a real life situation. The event was a great success and was enjoyed by all.”
The college was also delighted to be featured on the BBC programme ‘Something for the Weekend’ where Simon, who is the resident chef, cooks his mouth watering recipes.
