Outstanding Achievement for Accounting Students Thu, 17 September 2009 Tameside College Accounting students have excelled in the National Professional Accounting exams for the third year in a row, consolidating it’s position amongst the top 5% of consistently high achieving colleges in the country. Figures show that the College’s results are way above the average in subjects across the board of Accounting, especially Financial Accounts, Business Tax and Costing. Students smashed the national benchmark rate with fantastic results, such as 96% passed in Personal Tax, compared to the national benchmark of 87%.Part time students studying Book Keeping achieved a 100% pass rate which is almost 10% above the AAT benchmark rate. This is a great achievement for all the students and staff involved. A spokesperson from the Association of Accounting Technicians congratulated the College and students for achieving yet again such exceptional results. Many students are progressing onto further study of Chartered Accountancy Qualifications at Manchester Metropolitan University.
