Make Your Mark 2009 Wed, 16 December 2009 The Make Your Mark Challenge took place as part of Enterprise Week and is the UK’s largest one-day enterprise competition for students. Students were challenged to come up with unique and inspiring ideas for new products and services in response to a secret brief launched online only hours before. This year’s Make Your Mark Challenge encouraged students to think about the environmental impact of their business idea. The teams competing generated some excellent ideas which demonstrated the entrepreneurial skills of individuals from Tameside College. With the support of the college, a generation of young people will have the opportunity to develop their own business ideas and create employment for themselves and others in the local area. The college is proud to put forward a team which welcomes diversity with an idea that encompasses the whole community. The winning team includes Aran Corcoran from Plumbing, Gregory Hodgson from Carpentry & Joinery and Tyrone Tunniciffe and David Bromley from Electrical. The students all worked very hard on the project and showed great enthusiasm and commitment. Carol Iveson would like to thank the tutors who have provided support: Gareth Owens, Paul Lonyon and David Norton and everyone who assisted with the event, including Tameside Council and the Senior Management Team from the college.
