‘Tameside Works First’ Summit

The Catering Department at Tameside College prepared and served a 5 course meal to the ‘Tameside Works First’ Summit, which was held at Dukinfield Town Hall.

Katrina Clough, Charlotte Cox of the BTEC group, Lauren Glenn of Level 2 NVQ Catering and Sarah Kelly, Liam Cave and Ben Massey of Level 1  NVQ Catering all set up the room and served the guests in the same manner and standards set out in Reflections Restaurant, with the Support of their Lecturer John Holden.

Tom Dulson, Kirsty Charlesworth, Sunil Rathod and Paul Banks of the Level 3 NVQ cooked and prepared the food, with the support and tuition of  Lecturers Kevin Amesbury and Paul Yau.

Neil Berry from TMBC Hospitality Services said “Please pass on my sincere thanks to the students and your staff for the wonderful service and food presentation at the recent Business Summit. I have received many kind comments regarding the event. The group of young students were a credit to the college and as a part of our partnership initiatives I can certainly say that we at Tameside MBC are all very proud of their achievements! Well done to them one and all.”

Catering Lecturer, John Holden commented, “The students did extremely well with it all, considering it was the first time that they have worked in the building and in this environment, they coped really well and are a credit to the college and the department.”
