The Richemont Club has many members across the country who represent some of the most creative and innovative bakers in Europe. The annual competition has rapidly become one of the most prestigious and fiercely contested in the UK and its winners represent the crème de la crème of British talent.

Tameside College students excelled and won the section for the Under 21’s category, taking the overall British Bakers Trophy. Laura Littlejohn took first place in the Oven Bottom Bread category and third place for Novelty Cakes. Hayley Davies was also delighted to gain a first place award for the Fruit Scones section. Stella Collins achieved two second place awards in the Fruit Scones and Novelty Cake category. Oliver Campbell also gained a second place in the Bloomer Bread category.

Bakery tutor, Lorna Jones commented, “I was very proud of our first year students who have only been with us since September, they were a credit to the College, and I felt very proud in front of the other members of the Baking Industry”.
