Celebrating Staff Achievement

Tameside College staff, their university tutors and members of the college Senior Management team gathered for a celebratory lunch to mark the successful completion of courses delivered in conjunction with Sunderland University. The staff achievements comprised of two courses – BA Honours in Education & Training and the Foundation Degree in Training & Work-Based Learning.

Course tutor for the Foundation Degree, Louise Hodson, commented “It has been a pleasure to teach the staff on this new course. All learners really engaged in the programme and there was a great working atmosphere in the group. There has been some excellent work produced.  All students worked hard to develop their academic skills and I am pleased that some of the staff have decided to progress onto the BA.”

The occasion was a particularly proud moment for Tracy Houghton who achieved first class honours on the BA, the first person to do so for three years at Sunderland University. Tracey was congratulated by her fellow students and colleagues and was also given a generous round of applause.
