Dovestones Equality & Diversity Day Wed, 16 March 2011 Tameside College students from Dovestones and the Learning Pathways enjoyed a full day of cultural celebrations held at the College. The occasion has been an annual event within the Dovestones centre and the learners always look forward to it coming around each year. All the tutors set up their classrooms to represent a different country which was visited by the students throughout the day. Traditional music from Australia, England, Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, France, and Spain was aired while the students viewed the traditional costumes and sampled the cultural delights from the different countries. The feedback from the event was excellent and all the learners really enjoyed themselves. Head of Dovestones Chris Shaw commented “It was a fantastic day to be involved in and all of the students seemed to get into the spirit. The countries that were being celebrated looked fantastic and we are looking forward to it again next year.”
