Emily's London Final

Tameside College student Emily Kay has had her work entered into two hairdressing competitions. Emily, who is studying Level 3 NVQ in Hairdressing, has been studying with the college for three years, with all her work completed to a very high standard. This year Emily’s hard work and dedication seems to be paying off as her work has been successfully entered into the Francesco photo shoot and into the Wella Xposure.

The famous Wella Xposure competition is a College Competition where college’s all around the country enter their best work and Emily has been successful in getting to the final which is held at the famous Wella Studio in London. Emily will be competing against 19 other competitors at the Wella Studio who will attend from all around the country.

Emily’s winning picture was taken by Amy Traynor, a BTEC National Diploma Photography student, whose photography skills helped Emily’s design become more noticeable to the judges.

Upon reaching the finals in London, Emily commented "I am really happy and proud to have reached the Wella Xposure National Finals. I am really looking forward to the London experience and the chance to re-create my cut and colour look. I am grateful for all the support I have received from my tutor Michelle."

Emily’s tutor in Hairdressing, Michelle Pedley, commented "I am really proud of Emily and the work she has produced, she has the makings of a very successful hair stylist. I wish her lots of luck in the final."

Emily is also concentrating on her studies at Tameside College as she plans to complete her Level 3 NVQ in Hairdressing.
