Tameside College sports students assisted in a Football Aid charity event and paid a visit to three of the country’s top football clubs.
For the second year in succession Tameside College tutor, Maria Cacia, successfully secured exciting work experience positions for sports massage students. The students attended Manchester City FC, Bolton Wonders FC and Stoke City FC to provide pre-event, inter-event and post event sports massage along with pitch side First Aid.
The event managed to raise an impressive £28,000 for charity, course tutor, Maria said “The aim is to provide a real working environment for the learners and one that will encourage them to continue learning and gain employment within their chosen fields. Not everyone gets a chance to work at this level and it’s such a pleasure to see the students getting involved with such a great cause”.
Sports massage student, Brian Parkinson-Silk said “Working in the same place as the football stars is a great motivation and something you can dine out on for many a year”.
