Life in the Fast Lane

Supercars go head to head as students take on racing for the very first time. The group soaked up the atmosphere at the 1.5 mile long Aintree Race Circuit, keeping their wits about them as AC Cobras, TVRs and McLarens flew by reaching speeds of up to 190mph!

The Tameside College students spent the day getting up close to some truly awesome machines, learning first-hand what the world of Motorsports is like, on and off the track.

John Harden, Chairman of Liverpool Motor Club, said “It was great to have the keen and attentive students from Tameside College with us, getting a flavour of what goes on in the paddock between sessions”.

The enthusiastic learners have now started to prepare a 172bhp Renault Sports Clio to take along to their second Race Day in Accrington this December.

Scott Gilmour, former Droylsden Academy School pupil, said “It’s an amazing course to be on, I can’t wait until we start racing!”
