Sponge the tutor, Kick ups, Guess the sweets and a 3 mile run were on the agenda at Tameside College’s charity event.

Kind hearted Business Studies students planned and prepared several events to raise money for Willow Wood Hospice. The charity events ran over two days which raised a total of £155.44, which is a huge achievement for the students.

Whilst planning and preparing these charity events the Business Studies students gained valuable organisational, promotional and sales skills.
The students along with their tutor Trudy Melvin visited Willow Wood Hospice to present the money to the Lottery Manager, Chris Crabtree, who was delighted to be receiving the money raised from the hard work and dedication of the students.

Business Studies student, Hassan Mahmood completed the 3 mile run and commented: "It was hard work but I am glad I did it, it is for a good cause."

Tutor Trudy Melvin went on to say: "I’m really proud of what the students have achieved. They put a lot of effort into their events and it really paid off."

Chris Crabtree, Willow Wood Hospice Lottery Manager said: "Every bit of fundraising helps us to carry on providing this valuable service for the local community. We are grateful to Tameside College Business students for taking their time to help raise funds for the Hospice."
