Students impress with photography skills

Tameside College’s first year Photography students took part in a live brief to help the charity ‘Gift of a Wedding’ raise funds. The students impressed the charity and have more work lined up for the students.

Gift of a Wedding is a UK Charity that aims to gift wedding services to people who have terminal or life-shortening illnesses.

The local charity approached the College’s Photography Department with the task of photographing 80 donated wedding dresses. The photos were then used to auction off the dresses and raise funds for the charity.

Seven students stepped up to the challenge and arranged lighting and the logistics for the photography. The students had to make sure that they took professional shots quickly and efficiently. These students proved that they had what it took and Gift of a Wedding were very impressed with the photography; they have asked the students to take on photography for more of their dresses.

The students involved were; Aaleyah Dransfield, Tamenay Sheikh, Kamonsiri Chaisuwan, Kayla Mayers, Nikki Pepper, Danielle Blakeley and Zarreen Akhtar.

Gift of a Wedding commented; “A big thank you to the creative, helpful and patient photography students at Tameside College.”
