Inspiration for students through Museum visit

Level three Fashion and Clothing students at Tameside College visited London’s Victoria & Albert (V&A) Museum to gain inspiration for their own project as part of completing their studies.

The V&A Museum, based in London is the world’s leading museum for art and design which inspires millions of artists each year, including Tameside College students. The students had the opportunity to view each of the Alexander McQueen fashion collections at the Savage Beauty Exhibition to take inspiration from the extensive detail of each of the garments.

The educational visit was to help students research for their upcoming project which is to design fashion pieces. The project will help students gain their overall grade for the level three course and allow them to be one step closer to becoming qualified Fashion Artists or Designers.

The work these talented students produce will be shown on a catwalk at Clarendon Sixth Form College this autumn.

Fashion student Lauren Adshead commented; “Going to view the pieces from Alexander McQueen’s iconic collections in person at the Savage Beauty Exhibition was a wonderful experience and gave me great inspiration for my future projects.”
