Tameside College raises over £1000 for Children in Need

It’s been a record breaking year for Children in Need and Tameside College were thrilled to make their contribution with a record of their own of over £1000 raised across the college.

Staff and students enjoyed a day of fun and fundraising to help disadvantaged children by selling raffle tickets, meals in the onsite Bistro and Reflections restaurant and a selection of Pudsey cakes. Other activities included: nail painting, arm wrestling, coffee mornings and fancy dress.

Business students used their entrepreneurial skills to set up their own car washing business and by 11am had already washed seven cars and a motorbike for £5 each, not only contributing to the fundraising efforts but to their overall grade for their event management module.

Jackie Moores, Principal of Tameside College said: “I'm really proud of the contribution that all students and staff have made to support Children in Need. It’s great for the students to get involved, working together to make a difference and contributing back to their community, alongside having lots of fun!”
