Sports student secures job teaching aquatics

Georgina Roebuck, level 3 sports student from Tameside College, has been awarded the ASA level 1 in teaching aquatics and is now using her talent to teach children in Tameside how to swim.

Georgina, said: “I’m so pleased with my award and love using my skills to teach children. It’s so much fun working with them and seeing their progress.”

The former Saddleworth School student plans to go to university after finishing her course at Tameside College to study for a degree in nutrition with the aim of starting a business in health and wellbeing.

Chris Banks, Sports Development Officer at Tameside College, said: “We’re so proud of Georgina; this level 1 qualification is one more step towards her development and progression to achieving her goal. We’re lucky to have such an excellent student and a fantastic advocate for female sports and physical activity at the college.”
