Former student is the face of national campaign

Hayley Simpson, former Tameside College student, has been selected to be the face of a national advertising campaign.

Hayley, former Copley Academy pupil, has been selected by BTEC to be part of its national campaign to promote vocational qualifications. She completed her National Diploma in Sport at Tameside College in 2014 and received the outstanding sports student of the year.

Hayley progressed to Leeds Beckett University where she is currently in her final year of a sport coaching degree. She hopes to continue onto a PGCE course to help her pursue a career in teaching Physical Education.

Hayley said: “Becoming an ambassador for BTEC was through the success of completing the course at Tameside College and also winning Outstanding Sports BTEC Student of the Year. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and everything that has come from completing my BTEC with the College.”

The ‘ichoosebtec’ campaign has recently been launched. Its aim is to raise awareness of BTEC courses and the routes people can take after studying a BTEC such as university or employment. To view Hayley’s video or find out more about BTECs visit: http://www.ichoosebtec.com/
