Tameside College celebrates staff success

Tameside College celebrated staff success with its annual ‘Star Awards’.  Employees were recognised for their hard work, achievements and dedication to the college in front of 500 staff members.

Every winner was presented with a trophy, champagne and a box of chocolates by College Principal of Tameside College, Jackie Moores. The category winners included:

  • Teaching, Training and Learning – Chris Blackburn

  • Support Role – Charlotte Simpkins

  • Learning Support – Barry Wheeler

  • Leadership – Gail Clifford

  • Innovation – Dave Sexton

  • Unsung Hero – Kay Margrave

  • Living the Values – Tracey Barton-Mclean

  • Lifetime Achievement - Gordon Trunkfield, Lorna Jones, Pauline Kinder, Chris Thompson, Karen Sparham, Louise Carson

 

Linda Mason, Head of Human Resources and organiser of the Star Awards said: “The awards were a great success! It’s the second time we have put on the event and each time it has been great to see staff members recognised for what they put into the college. Well done to all the winners.”

Charlotte Simpkins, Marketing Assistant, who won the Support Role Award, said: “I really enjoy my role at the College and making a difference to students’ lives. It is great to be recognised for the work you do and know that you are supported by colleagues. Receiving a star award really highlighted that my colleagues appreciate my input.”
