#ICanBe… A ROYAL NAVY ENGINEER

Melissa Foster, former Tameside College student, has completed and passed her training to join the Royal Navy as an Engineer.

Melissa, who previously attended Denton Community College, started at Tameside College on a Level three Public Services course which she studied for two years before gaining a distinction star and two distinctions.

Melissa who always wanted to join the Royal Navy said: “Tameside College was the first choice of college which I wanted to study at due to their provision for Public Services.” She recently took part in the pass out parade and her next step is to start training to be a Weapon Engineer at HMS Collingwood on 19th September.

She said: “I loved my training with H.M.S Raleigh and I am looking forward to beginning my career in the Royal Navy. I am grateful to the teachers at Tameside College for their support and training which helped me to get into the Navy.”

Melissa also praised the college’s new #ICanBe… campaign: “I really like the #ICanBe… It gives new students an understanding into what careers can be achieved if they study at Tameside College and work hard.”
