College flash mob becomes Facebook hit

Aspirations students at Tameside College took to the market place in Ashton Town Centre for their end of year flash mob.

Crowds gathered to the sound of drums as Aspirations students burst into song and dance. The flash mob incorporated sign language and members of the wheelchair dance club at the college.

Students had been rehearsing for the flash mob every Friday as part of their college enrichment activity. The skills they had to learn were to follow routines, instructions and safety procedures.

Tracey Barton-McClean, Curriculum Leader commented: “I am extremely proud of the students. It was great for the wider community to see how talents our Aspirations students are, along with their passion and enthusiasm for performance."

The flash mob was filmed live on Facebook, and has reached 13,000 views. To view the video on Youtube visit: https://youtu.be/mB99ZFjaFRU
