Brand new campus opens new opportunities

Tameside College’s market street campus will open its doors to students for the very first time in September 2018.

The brand new centre is currently being constructed on the site of Tameside Council’s administration centre in Ashton-under-Lyne.  It's opening marks the completion of the second phase of the Vision Tameside regeneration project that has already seen the unveiling of the Advanced Technologies Centre and Clarendon Sixth Form College.

The brand new campus will be home to a range of faculties including: hair and beauty, travel and tourism, bakery, hospitality and catering, health and social care and computing.  Students making an application for these courses at Tameside College will be the first to benefit from the state of the art campus.

The high street location of the new campus will give students a direct experience of working with the public.  The college’s salons and restaurants will be open to the general public helping students learn essential customer care skills.  The campus is also ideally placed to key transport hubs making the college more accessible by train, bus and tram.

Jackie Moores, principal at Tameside College, said: ‘We are looking forward to moving our service based provision to the new campus in the summer.  Its opening follows the launch of Clarendon Sixth Form College and the Advanced Technologies Centre.  It means that the college has the most modern estate in the further education sector across greater Manchester and the north-west of England.  Students applying for September 2018 can look forward to learning in fantastic facilities with outstanding teachers’.
