East Manchester Academy student gets insight at college

Chloe Nuttall, from The East Manchester Academy, was invited by David Scanlan, head of marketing, to join the team at Tameside College as part of her work experience. Chloe was at the college bright and early for 9:30am on Monday 19th March 2018.

When she arrived she felt a little nervous but then found her feet when she met the staff in the college. David and Charlotte then gave Chloe a tour of the college which helped her gain an insight into Tameside College and its facilities.

Chloe was tasked to carry out market research and report any features she found that she liked or disliked. Chloe also looked at how the college’s prospectus could be improved from the perspective of a young person, helping the team adapt it and make it more appealing to future students.

Chloe also joined a variety of meetings, which included a discussion about the new building. Chloe had the opportunity to share her opinions where she felt they were needed.

Other work experience tasks that Chloe took part in were: social media, uploading data to the college website, photography and video making.

Chloe said: “I have really enjoyed working with the marketing and admissions team on my work experience. I have felt welcome and accepted by everyone and it was a great chance for me to try something new.”
