Students hoping they’ve got the ‘code’ to succeed

Three students have been selected to represent Tameside College in the ‘Tameside Hack’ at Brother UK at the end of October.

David Evans, David Shaba and Milton David will all compete in the coding competition on Tuesday 30th October and Wednesday 31st October.

The Tameside Hack, which is organised by Tameside Council aims to encourage young people to take up coding as a potential career as the world of work becomes more technology focused. The Hack will be taking place at technology company Brother UK’s Audenshaw headquarters and will see participants design a website wto showcase Brother-specific technology.

Tameside College will be hosting another Tameside Hack event in the summer of 2019 for the third year running.

Jennie Arnold, curriculum leader for computing at Tameside College, said: “The Tameside Hack is something we have entered students into for several years now and each time we see something different and innovative from them. It’s a great way for young people to develop their coding skills and to practice what they’ve learnt in a fun way. Good luck to our competitors.”
