Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.
If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don't already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).

The course is designed for learners who wish to gain a hands-on appreciation of Core Craft and associated fields of study surrounding Sustainable Building, Social Issues and Entrepreneurial Skills. You will acquire the introductory knowledge and skills relevant to the construction industry in the above disciplines whilst working in a supportive environment.
Students learn through a combination of practice workshops; classroom sessions; individual guided learning and support; and independent study. The emphasis is on the core and associated skill requirements where competency will be assessed to occupational standards and knowledge tested. The tutors provide ongoing feedback. All learners will sit a final test to pass the course either on-line test to meet awarding body requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this Diploma. Learners must have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification .Usually 4 GCSEs at grade D-G including Maths, English and Science or Technology.

The course offers students an opportunity to develop hands on practical skills in a realistic working environment. The course consists of units that include: an introduction to the industry; estimating; methods of working; building design; and construction.
Functional-skills are also included in communications, information technology and mathematics to complete a Foundation Learning framework.
In addition to the core elements a programme of tutorials and enrichment activities are provided.
