Working within the Public Services can be both demanding and challenging so this course can help you to prepare for entry and offer you a chance to experience working within these organisations.
This is a full time programme where you will be expected to complete 12 units of work throughout the year. Your work is assessed by your tutors and you must pass every unit to gain the diploma at the end of the course. In addition to this you may be required to further improve your current Maths and English grades to enhance your employability prospects and you will undertake a tutorial with your progress tutor each week, where you will get the opportunity to develop other elements such as CV writing, time management and advice on part time job opportunities.
We participate in the Greater Manchester College Group Public Services Competition each year and were the 2016 champions with a number of students from the level 1 course in the winning team.
Students get the opportunity to participate in local events as stewards, gaining invaluable experience to develop their skills and qualities.
