The Level 2 Diploma in Engineering and Technology has been designed for young people who would like to train for a position within an engineering environment.
This course will consist of practical assessments within a workshop environment backed up by theory classroom based sessions.
The qualification comprises of both mandatory and optional units and will be assessed by observation, practical work and written questions. There are 3 mandatory units and 3 optional units as per below

» Engineering Principles

» Fitting & Assembly Techniques
Learners with grade D in Maths & English will be required to undertake GCSE resits and Learners who have progressed from Level 1 in Performing Engineering Operations will be required to undertake functional skills.
Learners are required to have GCSE grade D for maths and English or a level 1 in performing engineering operations and will also be required to undertake an interview and assessment. Candidates will be expected to be enthusiastic about embarking on a career in engineering and have an aptitude for practical activities.
On completion of this qualification candidates may progress on to a level 3 City & Guilds or EAL Awards Engineering programme and/or into employment.
