More than just a Course

If you are interested in a career working with children aged five and under in a variety of roles, Tameside College offers a range of courses to get you started in the rewarding career of the Early Years sector. The course combines work based training with college knowledge and you will attend a work placement setting for 1 day per week. This is an integral part of the course and you will complete a portfolio of evidence whilst you are on placement. The majority of the course is assessed through coursework.

Working with children can be a rewarding and challenging career; it requires enthusiasm and dedication, commitment and maturity. You should know you wish to work with children and develop new skills at both college and placement. Learners can progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) into employment or an apprenticeship. Learners often gain employment at the end of the course within a setting they have had a placement with. The course will give you the knowledge and skills to move forward into employment or level 3.
