Your Unique Experience

The course provides students with an opportunity to develop skills, personal qualities and an attitude to succeed in working life. You will go on several trips, where you will see first-hand how functions work in industry. Trips could include visits to local attractions, accommodation providers and theme parks. We do ask for a contribution to your educational trips of £35.00 which is payable at the beginning of term. You will be required to wear a uniform; you will get details of this at enrolment.

This course covers a variety of functions within the Travel and Tourism industry and will provide you with a sound knowledge and understanding of the industry, preparing you for further study or training in this exciting area of work. This full time course includes:

You will also study functional skills in Maths, English and ICT which must also be completed as part of your course.

Entry Qualifications

For entry onto this course you should have at least one of the following:

4 GCSE grade E-G in individual subjects

An Entry Certificate in Skills for Working Life, Life Skills or other Entry Qualification

An appropriate standard of literacy and numeracy

All applicants will be required to attend an interview to discuss their related interests and experiences for applying and complete an initial diagnostic assessment.

Progression

When you have passed your course (to a Merit profile), you will have the option of progressing onto the City & Guilds Level 2 Extended Certificate in Travel and Tourism.

Progression is subject to an interview, good attendance, punctuality, attitude and completion of all vocational and functional skills units.

Alternatively you may wish to move straight into employment in the Hospitality or Travel and Tourism industries.
