Course Content

This Programme is designed to build on students’ knowledge and skills developed at introductory level. Students continue to study and develop a wide range of skills required for employment in the automotive industry and/or career progression. Students will have completed an IMI Introductory Level Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and will have ideally achieved Level 1 Functional Skill in English and Maths. Students must complete ten units consisting of both practical skills and theoretical knowledge.

The courses on offer here in the Motor Vehicle department will prepare you for the world of work and give you practical and academic knowledge to progress to the Motor Vehicle industry.

Working on a range of vehicle rigs and cars learn how an engine works and why different suspension systems are used on various cars and much more.

Course Format

Full Time, 2 ½ days per week

Entry Qualifications

Level One in Motor Vehicle Technology. Students will be required to undertake either GCSE or Functional Skills English and maths if not previously obtained.

Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
