Level 1 Diploma in Health, Social Care & Children and Young Peoples Settings

Course Content

The course is combined with CACHE level 1 Award in Personal and Social Development. You will complete work booklets and produce leafets, posters, PowerPoint presentations and more. There are no exams on this course.

You will attend full time and will complete the units required to gain the qualification.

Your work will be reviewed on a regular basis through group work and discussions with your tutor.

The course involves group discussions; project and assignment work and you will be working closely with other students and the tutor to complete these activities. You will be assessed in college throughout the course using a variety of these different techniques and more.

Guest speakers and educational visits are also part of the course.

You will also complete short NCFE qualifications alongside this course, including Functional Skills Maths and English.

Entry Qualifications

There are no formal entry requirements for a level 1 programme. You usually will need D-G grades in your GCSE’s

Progression

Students may progress on to the (CACHE) Level 2 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s workforce (subject to the interview/reference) or progress into employment within the following job roles; assistant pre-school workers, assistant in children’s centre’s or assistant in day nurseries, nursery schools and nursery classes in primary schools.
