Course Content

This course covers

»Working with Colleagues within Beauty related Industries

»Health & Safety

»Client care and communication in beauty related industries

»Apply make-up

»Provide eyelash and brow treatments

»Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector

»The art of photographic make- up

»Body art design

»Apply skin tanning techniques

»The art of colouring hair

»The art of dressing hair

»Make and style a hair addition

Course Format

This course consists of exams and assignments throughout the course for each unit, as well as the completion of a portfolio of work by the end of the course.

Students could be timetabled to attend an evening until 9pm,and regular work placements including late nights and weekends.

Entry Qualifications

To qualify for entry onto this course you should have:

»Level 1 in Hairdressing plus level 1 Functional skills in Maths and English or

»Level 1 in Beauty Therapy plus level 1 Functional skills in Maths and English or

»4 GCSE grade D’s or above including English

Progression

Having completed the course, you then have the option of progressing onto the City and Guilds Level 3 in Hair and Media Make –up to develop your skills and competence to work in theatre, film or TV.
