Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation

Course Content

You will be assessed through the completion of various training activities as well as externally set knowledge tests. Throughout the year you will study the following subjects, Electrical Regulations; Electrical Science; Electrical Technology; Inspection and testing and fault diagnosis of electrical installations.

Course Format

One day per week.

(There is an option to cover course content over two evening per week.)

Special Features

Can lead to further City and Guild qualifications in Electrical Installation, for example 2395 inspection and testing of electrical installations, 2396 Design and verification of electrical installations

Entry Qualifications

You will have previous industry experience or have achieved a level two qualification in an electrical discipline, ideally City and Guilds 2365 level 2 or 2330 level 2

You will need 4 GCSEs grades A* - Ds (preferably C’s) in Maths, English, Science or Technology.

Progression

Once you have completed this course you may progress onto NVQ Level 3, depending upon whether or not you have suitable employment in a vocationally relevant trade at that time. Progression is also available into various specialisms within the electrical industry, for example testing and inspection, design and verification, maintenance of electrical systems and progression to qualifying supervisor status.
