Level 2 Diploma in Uniformed Services

Course Content

The NCFE Level 2 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services has been designed for young people who have a practical interest in working in the Uniformed Public Services. The course is delivered by experienced Uniformed Public Service personnel who commit first-hand experience to delivering current and up to date information. There will be an opportunity to experience real service life through visits to the Army, Fire & Rescue Service, Police Community Awareness and much, much more.

Key Curriculum areas include;

»Explore aspects of physical fitness

»Develop team working and problem solving skills

»Carry out map reading and navigation

»Follow Public Services Routine

»Undertake Adventurous Activities

»Participate in competitive sports

»Physical Preparation

Students will also be given the opportunity to complete the’ HABC Stewarding’ qualification with real life experience in stewarding an event which leads to job interview opportunities.

Special Features

Functional skills in Maths and English and Work Experience visits form part of this programme. As part of preparing learners for employment we require all our learners to wear a college kit that can be purchased at the start of the course. More information will be given on interview.

Entry Qualifications

Learners are required to have 4 GCSEs at grade D including equivalents and will also be required to undertake a pre-course interview and assessment day. Candidates will be expected to be enthusiastic about embarking on a career in the Uniformed Public Services


This qualification provides knowledge and practical skills that can help with progression to Level 3 or employment.

On completion of this qualification candidates may progress on to Level 3 Public Service Qualifications
