Course Content

The qualification comprises of both mandatory and optional units and will be assessed by observation, practical work, online tests and written questions. See below for units covered:

3 Mandatory Units

Unit 301 Engineering health and safety

Unit 302 Engineering principles

Unit 307 Principles of mechanical manufacturing engineering

Plus 3 out of the following 4 disciplines to be centre selected

Unit 323 Machining materials by turning

Unit 324 Machining materials by milling

Unit 326 CNC machining of materials

Unit 327 Detailed fitting of materials

Entry Qualifications

Candidates will be expected to have completed a NVQ level 2 in engineering or be currently employed in an engineering discipline (initial assessment required)


A Bridging unit of Maths and Science at BTEC Level 3 or C & G unit 331 in addition to completion of this course allows for HNC and HND ( level 4 & 5) progression in Engineering

Course Details

£3345 (May qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan)

Course fees are per year.
If you are aged between 19-23 and you don’t have a qualification equivalent to 2 A-Levels, tuition fees will be waived. If aged 19 or over and do have a qualification equivalent to 2 A-Levels at the start of the course you may be able to apply for an Advanced Learning loan.
