Course Content

Throughout this course you will develop a range of skills and knowledge in Beauty Therapy, preparing you for a rewarding career in helping people to look and feel good. You will complete practical and theory work in all of the following areas; Manicure; Pedicure; Makeup; Waxing; Facial; Lash and Brow; Reception and Health and Safety. You will learn each of these areas through practical work experience in our commercial Beauty Salons, situated on-site and open to the public, giving you an insight into the exciting and satisfying career path you have chosen.

Course Format

Your skills will be assessed in a work based environment. Relevant theoretical knowledge is an integral part of each unit and is assessed by on line exams.

You will be continually assessed throughout your course on practical skills, written work and assignment.

Entry Qualifications

Learners will be accepted onto the programme after a successful interview. Potential learners should have a good general education and preferably four GCSE grade D or above or level 1 in Beauty Therapy with the relevant functional skill qualification. Learners should also possess the following qualities:

It is compulsory for all students to be in a continuous work placement in order to complete the course.

Progression

Once you have completed this course, a variety of options will be available to you. You may gain employment in beauty salons in a variety of locations and environments including Health Farms; Cruise Liners; Mobile Therapy or progression onto Holistic Therapies

You may also further your studies in this area of work by progressing onto Level 3 Beauty Therapy, Level 3 Complementary Therapies or Level 3 Nail Services.
