Level 1 Professional Cookery

Course Content

This is the course for you if you're just starting out - you might still be at school (aged 14+) or starting your first hospitality job. You want a good basic understanding of hospitality work, enough to succeed in a job or move on to further study.

Course Content

You will cover a wide range of topics that will equip you to gain a valuable understanding of how the hospitality industry operates.

Course Format

A unit based format which enables you to experience a range of teaching and learning styles, from practical work, to group discussions, and interactive sessions using IT facilities. All units are assessed and graded with an overall grade for the qualification awarded.

Special Features

You will have the opportunity to work in one of our real working environments which will include our Aroma bistro and reflections restaurant. You will also complete a range of specialist mandatory and optional units that will enable you to progress your new skills.

Entry Qualifications

All you need is a desire and passion to cook. A good attendance record at school will also help your application.

Progression

On completion of your course there will be an opportunity to progress to a level 1 diploma in professional cookery and apprenticeship opportunities at level 2.
