This is the course for you if you're just starting out or starting your first catering / hospitality job. You want a good basic understanding of catering / hospitality work, enough to succeed in a job or move on to further study. You will cover a wide range of topics that will equip you to gain a valuable understanding of how the catering & hospitality industry operates, learning many new skills along the way. All units are assessed and graded with an overall grade for the qualification awarded.

You will develop high levels of culinary skills, communication and teamwork within outstanding fine dining and casual dining areas – all play a major role in developing young chefs of the future.
You will have the opportunity to work in one of our real working environments, the Aroma Bistro. You will also complete a range of specialist mandatory and optional units that will enable you to progress your new skills.
There are no formal entry qualifications for this course. All you need is a desire and passion to cook. A good attendance record at school will also help your application. The process for being accepted on the course will also involve an interview with a member of the catering team.
On completion of your course there will be an opportunity to progress to a level 1 diploma in professional cookery and apprenticeship opportunities at level 2.
