Course Content

The course covers the following units:

Bookkeeping Transactions

Bookkeeping Controls

Elements of Costing

Working Effectively in Accounting and Finance

Using Accounting Software

You will sit an exam for each of these units and a Synoptic exam that covers the first 4 units, you must pass all the exams to gain the qualification. You will learn through a variety of methods which will aim to meet the needs of each individual and accommodate different learning styles for example, case studies, assessments, group work, practical work, projects and interactive activities.

More than just a Course

This is a work related qualification covering topics such as, manual book-keeping, computerised accounting, management accounting and working effectively. It will give you the skills required to gain employment as an accounts assistant, sales ledger clerk, purchase ledger clerk or bookkeeper.

Learners must have;

5 GCSE’s grade A*-C, including Maths and English at grade 4

A genuine interest in the subject
