Computer Science introduces students to advanced topics such as computational thinking and problem solving, algorithm design and development using advanced programming languages, and a deeper understanding of how computers work at the microprocessor level.
Learners will learn to develop software solutions following established systems life-cycle methodologies and techniques. They will learn how data is structured in a computer system and how networks are used to share data. We will also look at the moral, ethical and legal aspects of computer use.
The course is assessed through examinations and, in year two, a computer programming project.
On completing this course, you will have the option of furthering your education through degree programmes in a related field or moving on to employment in areas such as game developing, software engineering, network engineering, information systems management, programming and web design and developing.
