Safeguarding at Tameside College

Safeguarding refers to protecting students from physical, sexual, neglect or emotional harm, preventing impairment of their mental and physical health or development and ensuring that they learn in safe environment including being safe online.

Tameside College is committed to promoting the safeguarding and welfare of students and takes its moral and statutory duty to safeguarding students very seriously.

The College endeavours to provide a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment where all students are respected, valued and are able to recognise when they are at risk and know how to access help when it is needed.

If there is a risk of immediate harm or danger always call 999.

Prevent Strategy

The Prevent duty requires us to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism, supporting terrorism or being drawn into non-violent extremism. Prevent is another aspect of our safeguarding and concerns related to Prevent can be raised through our “report a safeguarding concern form”.

If you are concerned about a student or an apprentice, please contact our Safeguarding team by submitting your concerns.
