A workshop was recently held by The Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) to exhibit the new courses that are becoming available at Tameside College. VTCT is the governing body for the part-time courses in Sports Massage which are due to be delivered at Beaufort Road in September 2010, making Tameside College one of only four colleges in the country to do this.

The workshop was held to introduce the new courses which includes the Level 4 Sports Massage course that has been piloted within college this year.

The event was co-ordinated by course tutor, Maria Cacia and attended by staff members Paul Bailey and Rebecca Jones.  An additional 10 tutors for colleges around England and one from France attended the workshop for further updates and development.

Guest speakers included Bob Bramah (Physiotherapist & Sports Massage and Injury Management Lecturer), Eileen Baron (Sports Massage Lecturer) and David Edge (Physiotherapist, Sports Massage Practitioner and VTCT Senior External Verifier).

VTCT has asked if Tameside College will host all future events as a training centre for the course which is an amazing achievement. The day was most informative, successful and enjoyed by all.
