Bakery Student Alexandra wins prestigious prize to the Richemont School Switzerland

Tameside College Bakery student, Alexandra Edwards has returned to England after winning the first prize and the opportunity to train at the prestigious Richemont School in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Alexandra was picked to enter the selection process by her tutor Lorna Jones. The judges were very impressed with Alexandra’s products and awarded her the prestigious prize.

Whilst at the Richemont School, Alexandra learned how to bake various types of speciality bread, display dough’s and enhanced her decorative skills in marzipan, Swiss chocolate and Gateau work.

Reflecting upon her time in Switzerland, she commented “Switzerland was an amazing place and I really enjoyed my time there. I had the chance to train with people from around the world who taught me lots and I feel more confident in my skills.”

Alexandra is currently focused on completing her Level 3 course and is putting her new found experience to good use at Tameside College.
