E2E Students Launch Garden Project

Tameside College’s E2E students launched a collaborative project with Dinting Primary School in Glossop. Dinting’s Primary School headteacher Mrs Elliot wished to acquire the services of Tameside College to help create an outdoor learning space for the children.

E2E students Sophie Hardman and Lauren Cornwall led the consultation activity with the children and included great design ideas that had been given to them by the children.

TCT Co-Ordinator, Andy Winterbottom, provided help in ensuring all the Health and Safety requirements were met on the site. The hard work undertaken by the E2E group demonstrated the excellent team working skills and the support of each of the group amid the challenging weather. One member of the group stated “We thought that it was a very rewarding experience, knowing that we were doing something good for the community. It was a hard few days in the horrible weather but we tried not to think about it and got on with the job. The end result was brilliant. From when we got there on the first day the field looked like a different place by the time that we had finished. Overall all we did enjoy the two days.”

Mrs Elliot was extremely appreciative of the hard work and the effort that the students had put towards the project. She commented that she was more than happy with the professionalism shown by all the students. The group will continue their good work on the project as part of their Foundation Learning Programme.
