Students achieve top marks

Foundation Degree students at Tameside College were placed as the top three candidates of their year by the University of Chester. The students were studying Teaching Assistance and Early Years as well as working full time!

The Teacher Education foundation degree is the first of its kind to be offered at Tameside College and has been an outstanding success with great results.

The top three places were taken by Tracy Hughes, Michelle Burrows and Angela Myatt, closely followed by our other high achievers, Helen Condon, Marie Claire Taylor, Nicola Winterbottom and Dominique Kenneally, who are all currently working in local schools and nurseries.

Tutors, Beryl Clark and Paula Stinchcombe said: “We are extremely proud of the achievement of all of our learners, as they have all gained top marks.”

Many Teacher Education courses and Foundation degree courses are offered by Tameside College in conjunction with the University of Chester.  They are delivered at the College by highly experienced staff, which is sure to help towards the success of learners and offers people the chance to become more qualified, whist still studying locally.
