Students inspired by global automotive leader

Automotive students at Tameside College recently hosted a visit from Dayco, leading global component manufacturer.

The students received training, which is normally given to professional technicians, on auxiliary and timing system technology.  The session included a seminar from Dayco experts on a number of good practices, such as diagnosing issues and installation processes.

Thomas Barrett, motor vehicle teacher at Tameside College, said: ‘The seminar gave the students some great insight which I hope they take with them into the trade. It also showed them the importance of using quality products and respecting changing intervals. This has enhanced the knowledge of learners when they are carrying out practical tasks, when working on engines in the workshop.’

Every student who took part in the seminar were presented with a certificate of participation from the Dayco team.

Dayco is a leading UK component manufacturer and aftermarket supplier in the automotive sector.
